eat. go to the grocery store to buy more to eat more.
sleep. get up, live another couple hours, just to be tired again.
money. only to spend and be broke again days later.
teeth. brush them only to have stinkiness a few hours later after that meal is wolfed.
make-up. only to take it off hours before bedtime.
church. time flies from sunday and it's soon wednesday night Bible study.
write. only to feel empty and write more to fill.
exercise. then eat then get up and do it again the next day.
bed. make it up only to pull back the covers after nightfall and fall in.
iron. two weeks later and the pile will be bigger.
clean. dust will be back in two days.
blog. days pass and it's time to post another.
email. wait a day and the inbox will be overflowing.
full. only to hunger much the next day.
accomplish. tasks pile up faster than you can get them done.
birthday. you remembered it but wait a year and it's time again.
shop. only for the shirt to feel outdated months later.
shower. early morning you'll do it once more.
routine. something you do all the time that you mostly enjoy doing but just gets boring sometimes.
do you ever get tired of routine? eating? sleeping? showering? sometimes it just feels all the same and the same is just... bland.
what if God got tired of routine? we all know that He doesn't. when life gets tasteless, i'll just try a new brand of toothpaste, eat a different kind of cereal and change up the excercise routine. if God doesn't get tired of His job, He'll help me not to tire of the beautiful every day life He has given me. (pass the rasin bran, please.)
note: the above picture of mom and i doesn't really have anything to do with this post.
it was taken yesterday when she and i were delightfully treated to starbucks... all because
of a recent package with a starbucks gift card and other goodies from this lovely girl's generous
giveaway.
(although, sometimes a trip to starbucks is the perfect change from the every day)

Dear Memory. You are beautiful. Thanks for entering my giveaway! & it's fine that you don't have a Facebook (;
wow this is beautiful :)
I've been feeling quite bland lately, so thank you for the pick me up. Sometimes it's so easy to fall into a rut, but I am ever so grateful God is always there to warm our hearts again.
<3 ka-chow!
good food for thought! I never get tired of sleep...ever...lol ;)
I REALLY get tired of doing the same things every single day. This is a really good post, Memory!

Great post :)
I love the simplicity yet awesome message of this post. I actually love routine but sometimes I too just gotta shake things up. Thats what kids are for, nothing can ever be the same with them around.
all are blessings!
I likey this post much.
I have definitely been there! Sometimes I get so bored with everything, but In the end, I'm always reminded how blessed I am.(:

Great post! We all get "bland" sometimes, and it's really been hitting me hard lately. Thankfully there's always The One who will help us through, and little stuff we can do to change things up. :)
i like your yellow scarf :)
I am big into routine... whenever I veer from it I end up forgetting something!
I know what you mean about routine getting boring sometimes! I am so grateful that God doesn't get tired of his routine -- we'd all be in trouble! ;)
oh the mundane.
it's all about finding the magic in it, still. thanks for the reminder.
btw, i would TOTALLY take your senior picks if i could.
I love this! Just the other day I was thinking about my routine. I love the simplicity of it and knowing what my day generally consists of...but sometimes you just have to switch it up! God is great in helping with that :)
it's funny how people are made so differently - I actually love routine and doing most of the same things everyday. my husband though would agree with you! i guess some of the things like clean, shower and make your bed do get boring! :)
THis is a great post =)
Neat post and love your blog... would you like to follow each other!

Wow! What a great post...really made me think tonight! :) Thanks hun!
Hey girl, sorry to comment AGAIN but I just realized that my buttons were TOTALLY messed up! haha can you plase go onto my blog and get the updated code??
THANKYOU!!!!!!!!! <3 xoxo
You always write thought provoking posts. That's a really interesting way of looking at routines. I think routines can be pleasant and enjoyable it depends on how we see them. I enjoy things like washing my hair or brushing my teeth because i like to be clean. When my mom was sick and couldn't even do the simplest thing like brushing her hair, i realized how much i have taken all these simpe boring routines forgranted.

I think routines help your life run smoothly
great post!!! it's hard for me to follow a routine-- but sometimes it feels really good! thanks for the shout out to my blog. you are so sweet!!

Oh routine ... my main love/hate relationship squeeze. I think it's the little things like Starbucks and 1am dance parties and riding horses [which I don't have anymore, but ride others as often as possible] that keep me sane amidst it all. Lucky for me that the Creator of the Universe has blessed me with the ability to do those things that preserve my sanity:))
Great post!

thanks for your prayers. they work!
i love your perspective on things, like on this post.
LOVE this post! Gets ya thinking. And love that yellow crochet scarf. :)
Beautiful post! Makes me think!
I do get tired of routines sometimes and then I do things like eat chocolate only for three days straight, not shower, and stay up all night hyped on coffee and moutain dew. JUST KIDDING, haha. But I would love to do the chocolate only thing. :)
